Smokey Hollow Commemoration

The City of Tallahassee and Blueprint 2000 had the vision to commemorate the Smokey Hollow neighborhood that succumbed to urban renewal in the 1960's, as the land paved the way for many state office buildings at that time. Collaborating with former residents and vested stakeholders, this award winning project included 3 spirit houses that evoke memories of the past shotgun homes, a teaching pavilion, main promenade, water feature, and community gardens. The project includes story-telling features that teach younger generations the history of the lost African-American neighborhood.

Ringling Glass Art Pavilion

The Kotler-Coville Glass Art Pavilion is located at the main entry to Sarasota's Ringling Museum of Art. Hays designed the fins to allow soft light to permeate the gallery and maintain views to the exterior, while blocking as much direct/harsh light as possible.

Restoration and renovation of the historic Werkmeister Room on the campus of Florida State University.

The Shade Room

Inspired by tobacco shade leafs, grown in Gadsden County, Florida, and used in cigar wrappers, an historic tobacco packing plant is planned to be converted into a community asset. The modernized venue is planned to host both private and public events, as well as providing lodging to its guests.
